What happens if I have troubles with my BedSlide?
| How tall is the
BedSlide and how much room will I lose in my truck bed? |
| The standard Bedslide sits up 4” from the top of the
deck to the floor of the truck. The XL version for the
Avalanche and Escalade EXT is 2 ½” at the midgate and 3 ½”
at the tailgate. It tapers to clear the tailgate as it does
not lay flat. |
| Can I install a
BedSlide over a bedliner, carpet kit, BedRug, or spray-in
liner? |
| Yes, most BedSlide dimensions have taken into account
the space needed for a liners. If in doubt, measure your
truck bed between the wheel wells and from the front to the
tailgate. Compare this to our actual BedSlide dimensions and
find the best fit for your truck. |
| How far does the
BedSlide extend out my truck? |
| This varies between vehicles, but it’s about 80%. There
is 16” that does not extend past the end of the BedSlide
frame. The average sized adult can easily stand beside the
tailgate and retrieve their cargo. |
| Can I remove the
BedSlide easily once installed? |
| Yes, with the standard method of installation, removal
of the entire BedSlide takes two people less than a minute! |
| What is the
BedSlide constructed of? |
| The BedSlide is hand built, welded steel construction.
The decking is a ¾” exterior grade plywood covered with a
synthetic indoor/outdoor gray carpet. The optional
WeatherDeck is a spray-on bedliner material that offers
additional weather resistant protection. |
| How tall are the
side rails and can a load be secured to them? |
| The side rails are 1 ½” tall with ½” holes punched every
12 – 18 inches for the purpose of tying down your load. Some
people use these side rails as support for their own
customized taller sides. |
| What kind of
bearings do you use? |
| The Standard BedSlide has 4 sealed roller bearings. They
each have a static rolling weight capacity of 1070 pounds.
However, they have virtually no impact resistance. If you
have a bad bearing, your BedSlide won’t roll very smooth. It
most likely was damaged in shipping. This is an easy fix.
Give us a call and we will send you a replacement bearing
that can be replaced in minutes. The XL for Avalanche /
Escalade EXT has 16 smaller bearings including side-thrust
bearings for easy use on any incline. |
| How much weight
will the BedSlide hold? |
| The Standard BedSlide is rated at up to 1200 pounds
evenly distributed. |
| I have a longbox
pickup that I frequently put substantial weight on. My
BedSlide “bows” in the middle making it difficult sometimes
to roll in and out. Is there anything I can do to improve
this? |
| Yes. We have pre-punched holes in the center cross
member of the base frame to allow those customers the option
of bolting this to the pickup bed. This will greatly reduce
the amount of “flexing” that occurs, particularly on longbox
trucks. |
| Do you build
BedSlides for other vehicles like vans, utility boxes or
cargo trailers? |
| Yes we do. In fact, these applications are becoming more
and more popular. Work vans are an easy application. Find
the size that best fits your van. If we need to make minimal
size adjustments, please call for pricing. For $10, we can
provide you a mounting bracket that would bolt to your
floor. The BedSlide can then be installed just like a truck
and be removable in less than a minute. If portability is
not a concern, just bolt it to the floor. |
| Can I customize
my BedSlide once I get it? |
| Absolutely! This is one of the benefits of our product.
By using a ¾” plywood decking material, the customer has the
option of attaching tool boxes, racks, bike mounts, scuba
tank holders, bins, ….etc. We have seen some pretty amazing
custom applications. If you have a special application, take
a picture and send it to us. With your permission, we may
put it on our website to give others another great idea.
|
| Can you build me
a custom size? |
| Give us a call. Most likely we can build you the
BedSlide that fits your specific needs and dimensions.
Generally, any width between 36” and 48” can be easily
modified without additional costs. Length changes can be
done at a minimal cost. |
| What happens if I
have troubles with my BedSlide? |
| We certainly hope this doesn’t occur, but we aren’t
perfect. So if you should have any problems, please just
give us a call. We are committed to make sure you are 100%
satisfied with the BedSlide! We’ll do just about anything
(within reason) to make sure you leave happy! |
